On “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” the King of Talk asked Ariel what the last thing she and her father talked about was.

According to Ariel, on Christmas Day 2019, her brother called her about their father’s condition.

“My brother Marvin, the one who followed me, he that dad’s not doing well. It seems like something’s wrong with him. He had sepsis, but he was home. It seems, he seems lost. He’s not himself,” said Gelli de Belen’s husband.

He said he spoke to his father on the phone but, “He was off topic, he was like it wasn’t him I was talking to.”

When he and his two children were in Japan, his brother told him that their father had been taken to the hospital.

They said they immediately returned home to the Philippines with their children, and she immediately took a flight to Canada.

She said she caught up with her father who was already in the ICU.

“So we went back to Manila right away, and I got the first flight to Toronto. When I saw him, he was already in the ICU. He was breathing because of the apparatus,” Ariel said.

“I just whispered in his ear, and said thank you dad. Thank you for everything you’ve done for me, you’ve given me. I just said, ‘Don’t worry I’ll take care of mom. If you’re tired, rest.’ And that’s all I said,” she said.
